Palette Points Business Plan
A team of fellow arts administration students and I created a business plan for a company that we created, Palette Points. Palette Points is an app idea in which you get reward points if you go to local art events in the Lexington area, similar to when you buy food at McDonald’s and can get points to use on future purchases.6 The point of this was to pitch competition at an event held at Awesome Inc. in Lexington, KY.
Actors Theatre Press Release
In the arts administration department at the University of Kentucky, we were directed to write a press release for an existing arts nonprofit about how the organization was dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic shut everything down, and arts organizations were extremely affected, as many had to cancel their events and come up with entirely different programming online. I chose to use the Actors Theatre of Louisville because they did a lot of online programming during that time.
San Francisco Opera Reply Device and Direct mail Appeal
Through the arts administration department at the University of Kentucky, we received various examples of mail appeals to inspire us when creating ours. From there I knew I needed to make something persuasive but eye-catching for the individuals who received it. The direct mail appeal for the San Francisco Opera would be sent to persuade patrons to donate to the organization. This piece shows my design abilities as well as my persuasive writing skills. The reply device for the San Francisco Opera to send to donors and other patrons. Like the direct mail appeal, I had to be persuasive in the copy and design that I chose for this piece. The reply device is much smaller so I had to get creative with what information I chose to include to still get a donor to reply.
